What to Check When Your Jewellery Gift Arrives

It is tempting to put the parcel away until the birthday. Open and check it sooner, after reading the seller’s claims instructions. A short inspection gives you time to spot a wrong item or damage before the gift is needed.
Before you break the seal
Read the current delivery-damage and missing-item policy. Take any required photos or continuous unboxing video from the start. Keep your order number nearby and open the parcel on a clear, well-lit surface.
At Aagrah, the current return and refund policy asks for a complete unboxing video and a transit-damage report within 24 hours of delivery. It also excludes change-of-mind returns. These terms were checked on 15 October 2026; read the linked policy for the current details and other claim types.
Check the contents in a sensible order
Do not pull on stones, bend settings or stretch a chain to test its strength. A home inspection is a way to notice an issue, not a destructive quality test.
Look in ordinary light too
Inspect under a clear light, then in normal room light. A fingerprint or reflection can look different from a scratch. If you are unsure, take a clear close photo and ask support before using polish or cleaning liquids.
Do not attempt to hide, fix or glue a problem before reporting it. That can make it harder to understand what arrived and what happened later.
What about fit?
Check the stated measurements and the intended adjustment instructions. Do not repeatedly open and close an adjustable ring to test its full range. If the recipient is not there, keep the piece in its original condition rather than fitting it to your own hand.
Read safe adjustable-ring handling before making a change. A size or style preference is different from a manufacturing defect, so check the policy rather than assuming an exchange is available.
Send a clear support message
“My order number is __. It arrived on __ at __. I ordered __, and the issue is __. I have attached clear photos and the required unboxing video. Please let me know the next step.”
Use the brand’s official support channel. Keep the packaging, jewellery and any loose parts together until you receive instructions. Do not send the parcel back without confirming where it should go and how the return is authorised.
Once everything looks right
Store the piece dry in its own safe space, with the care information ready for the recipient. Add your note and keep the order details separately. The gift can still be a surprise even though you have checked that the right thing is inside.
