A little help with her ring size.
Buying a ring for someone else can feel tricky. This guide helps you understand the difference between fixed and adjustable rings, how to check the fit, and what to do if you’re still unsure.
Start with the inside measurement
See how to check the ring size and adjust the fit.
Measure a ring she wears on the same finger. Compare its inside diameter with the fit range on the product page.
Fixed or adjustable?
A fixed-size ring is made to fit one specific ring size.
An adjustable ring has an open band that can be gently widened or narrowed within its fit range.
Adjustable does not mean it will fit every finger. Each design has its own range.
If you’re buying a gift and don’t know her exact ring size, an adjustable ring can make choosing easier.
The easiest way to check
If she already owns a ring that fits the same finger, you can use it as a guide.
How to measure
- Take a ring she already wears on the same finger.
- Place it flat on a table.
- Measure straight across the inside of the ring in millimetres.
- Measure from inside edge to inside edge.
- Do not include the metal band itself.
- Compare your measurement with the fit range shown on the product page.
Every ring is different.
Do not assume one adjustable ring has the same fit as another.
Duo Heart Adjustable Ring
Inside diameter: 16.9–21.0 mm
That range applies only to this design.
Always check the Fit or Ring Size information on the product page before ordering. If the range is not shown, contact us and we’ll help.
How to adjust the ring
Adjustable rings should be moved gently. Hold the band carefully and make small adjustments until the ring feels comfortable.
Avoid:
- Pulling the ring open too far
- Twisting the band
- Bending it repeatedly back and forth
- Forcing it onto a finger when it feels too tight
Repeated or excessive bending can weaken the ring.
How should the ring feel?
A good fit should feel secure without being uncomfortable. It should:
- Sit comfortably on the finger
- Not feel painfully tight
- Not slide off easily
- Come off with a gentle turn or pull
If it feels too tight or too loose even after a small adjustment, stop adjusting it and contact us.
Buying it as a surprise?
If you don’t want to ask her ring size directly, try checking a ring she already wears.
Just make sure it is a ring she wears on the same finger you expect her to wear the new ring on. Different fingers can have different sizes.
If you cannot check her size at all, you can also choose a necklace or another gift that does not require ring sizing.
Still unsure?
You don’t need to guess. Send us the ring you’re considering and, if possible, the inside measurement of a ring she already wears. We’ll help you check whether the fit range may work.
