Indian Ring Size Chart: Sizes, Diameter and Millimetres
A ring-size number is useful only when you know the chart behind it. Keep the millimetre measurement alongside the label. That makes it easier to compare a ring you own, a calculator result and the specific item you want to order.
Quick answer
Use the seller’s own size chart. The table below is an excerpt based on inside diameters published in Tanishq’s ring-size guide, not a universal Indian standard or an Aagrah fit guarantee. Its circumference column is calculated here from the listed diameter, not copied from the source’s circumference column.
A reference chart you can read correctly
| Size label in Tanishq guide | Inside diameter, mm | Calculated circumference, mm |

| 8 | 15.30 | 48.07 |
| 9 | 15.50 | 48.69 |
| 10 | 15.90 | 49.95 |
| 11 | 16.30 | 51.21 |
| 12 | 16.50 | 51.84 |
| 13 | 16.90 | 53.09 |
| 14 | 17.30 | 54.35 |
| 15 | 17.50 | 54.98 |
| 16 | 17.90 | 56.23 |
| 17 | 18.10 | 56.86 |
| 18 | 18.50 | 58.12 |
| 19 | 18.80 | 59.06 |
| 20 | 19.20 | 60.32 |
| 21 | 19.40 | 60.95 |
| 22 | 19.80 | 62.20 |

Calculation: circumference = diameter × π, rounded to two decimal places. The extra decimals show the calculation; they do not imply that a home ruler or a manufactured ring is accurate to 0.01 mm. Consult the original guide for labels outside this excerpt and the chosen seller for an actual order.
Diameter and circumference answer different questions
If you measure an existing ring across its empty centre, you have a diameter. If you wrap a strip around a finger, you have an estimated circumference. Do not enter one into a calculator field asking for the other.
For example, entering “17.3” as a circumference would describe a much smaller circle than entering it as a diameter. Write the measurement name beside every number to avoid that mistake.
Use the chart in three steps
- Record your measurement with its method and unit.
- Find the matching measurement on the seller’s chart.
- Confirm the product’s fit guidance before selecting its size label.
If your measurement sits between entries, ask the seller how that particular design should fit. A size table cannot account for every knuckle shape, band width or personal comfort preference.
Why charts may disagree
Published charts can use different rounding, nominal labels or product-specific recommendations. A disagreement is a reason to check the measurement and the intended seller, not to average two size labels.
For Aagrah, use the ring-size calculator as a reference and ask for the selected ring’s actual size or adjustment range. We have not independently calibrated the tool or established a universal Aagrah size mapping.
FAQs
Is Indian size 14 always US size 7?
Some named charts align at the same listed diameter, but do not treat the labels as a universal equation. See Indian and US ring-size conversion.
Can I measure from a ring photograph?
An ordinary photograph lacks a reliable scale and may distort the shape. Measure the physical ring or use a correctly calibrated manufacturer tool.
Where should I start if I have no measurement?
Follow measuring ring size at home or arrange a professional fitting.
